by Earn Media

Bio-materials specialist Nanollose (ASX:NC6) has been granted a patent covering its wet-jel Jelli Grow seed-raising formulation in Europe.

The approval comes from the Europe Patent Office for Nanollose’s ‘Plant Growth Media and Method for Making Same’ application.

The $7.74 million market capitalisation company says the patent provides ‘important’ protection from potential competitors in a ‘large’ market.

It also augurs well for the prospects of Nanollose’s recent patent application covering its Biollose technologies.

Commenting on the approval, Nanollose Executive Chairman Dr Wayne Best says: “We are pleased to confirm another patent granted for Nanollose’s suite of technologies in a major market. As well as expanding our international IP portfolio, formal approval from the European Patent Office provides further validation of the company’s innovative technologies.

this key patent approval adds to the group’s broader momentum as part of our stated R&D and commercialisation strategy”

Along with our recent production milestones and the signed MoU for entry into a supply agreement for MicroGel with Australian technology company Greenspace, this key patent approval adds to the group’s broader momentum as part of our stated R&D and commercialisation strategy.”

This is Nanollose’s first granted patent in Europe, though it remains pending in other jurisdictions.

Nanollose is an ASX-listed business commercialising scalable technology to create fibres, fabrics, and other novel materials with minimal environmental impact.

The company uses ‘Tree-Free’ cellulose as an input for its range of innovative biomaterials, including its Nullarbor fibres, MicroGel horticulture medium, and its emerging animal-free and plastic-free leather-like materials.
